Travel Information Tips in Thailand

Where to Buy | Shopping

Thailand has several categories of good buys to select. The favorite product is Thai product that's not only beautiful, stylish and useful but also inexpensive for example Thai Silk, Antique, Ornaments, Silverware, Leatherwear and Garment. Since Bangkok became one of fashion city in the world, Bangkok is a popular shopping location in Asia.

Intersection of Phyathai
and Rama I Road
MBK (Mah Boon Krong)

Seven floors packed with shops and more shops selling everything from crop tops to pianos. Hectic and busy especially at the weekend when half of Bangkok seems to coverge there. The food court on the sixth floor is enormous. Not as upmarket and stylish as Siam Discovery but less expensive and the range of goods is quite mind boggling- from jeans to mobile phones to bathroom items. On the top floor is an entertainment complex with cinemas boasting plush seats, new style Karaoke booths (with current chart artists - English and Thai - 20 Baht a song) a computer games area and lots of restaurants and places to snack.

Pathumwan Road
SIAM SQUARE

located opposite Siam Discovery, is really a cluster of small inter-connecting streets filled with tiny boutiques selling young funky clothes, knick knacks and accessories. Catering largely to the nearby student community at the prestigious Chulalongkorn University, it's a cool place to hang out for Bangkok's teens and twenties and has a unique "city village" atmosphere. Lots of small local restaurants, cafes (some overlook the street from the first floor, providing a great spot for people watching) bars, and outside beer gardens. Nearest Skytrain: Siam

So if you're on route to the beach and want some nice gear at a good price, try Khao San. You'll also find some trendy cafes, bars and good places to eat.
