Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok reveals a new sumptuous “Traditional Afternoon Tea”, surrounded by picturesque views of the Chao Phraya River at THB1,398++ for two persons. Available at Lobby Lounge from now until 31 May 2020.
This afternoon tradition is well-known as one of the quintessential English customs since the early 19th century. Executive Pastry Chef Christoph Widmer is looking to refresh this English afternoon tea ritual with a variety of his flavourful creations of premium savoury bites.
The delicacies are served in the hotel’s renowned signature golden bird cage including English Trifle, Bakewell Tart, Bread and Butter Pudding, Yorkshire Lemon Butter Curd Tart and Butter Marble Cake. Afternoon tea lovers can indulge in a list of light-hearted and
‘Instagrammable’ delights such as Vienna Sacher Cake, Chestnut-Diplomat Chocolate Cup, Passion Fruit Cremeux and Sable Breton and Strawberry Tart.
The traditional fare is served along with a grand selection of Sri Lankan teas, and you can also choose from the English Earl Grey, English breakfast to Chinese Oolong tea.
